Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Mindfulness-based stress reduction was developed by Jon-Kabat Zinn in order to treat groups of people who are dealing with daily stressors and physical or mental disorders. MBSR can be directly applied to reducing stress and it typically consists of mindful meditation exercises and yoga practices. This program aids in developing the following skills: discipline, dedication, and present moment awareness. Life can be viewed as an exciting and challenging experience rather than a chore. Clients can develop the ability to be present and to experience life fully.
